About me
Hi, I’m Jani. I work across the cultural field with image, sound, and text. I am trained as an art educator, and I live and work between Finland and Portugal.
I am an art educator, artist, and writer with a fondness for white cubes. I graduated in 2022 with a Master of Arts degree in Art Education from Aalto University’s School of Arts, Design and Architecture.

My academic interests include museum pedagogy, post-digital visual culture, and queer studies. In my Master’s thesis, I explored how queer men identify with characters in film.

Since 2018, I have collaborated with Portuguese partners, including Armazém 22, Ballet Contemporâneo do Norte, and the City of Vila Nova de Gaia. I have contributed to projects presented at the Museu Coleção Berardo and Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art, as well as at the renowned PT.23 showcase by O Espaço do Tempo and the Temps d’Image festivals.

In 2023, I began working at EMMA – Espoo Museum of Modern Art as a guide and workshop instructor.

In my free time, I enjoy cooking, studying languages, and exploring the diverse worlds of cinema and music.
